Dr. Rahmes is our staff veterinarian and he is available for appointments Wednesdays - Fridays. He attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Rahmes is retired US Army and has had a motley career that includes working with bison, conducting research with monkeys, and teaching at a college. He resides in Greenville with his wife and cats. He has a son, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.
Dr. Poffenberger is originally from Maryland. She attended the University of Maryland and Virginia and Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She moved to Washington, NC upon graduation from vet school in 1985 and began her career at Pamlico Animal Hospital. She purchased Williamston Veterinary Hospital in 2010. Dr. Poffenberger is married and has two sons, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and a new grandson. "Dr. P" has too many pets to list in this space!
Originally from Winterville, NC, she received her BS in Biology from East Carolina University in 2017 and received her DVM from North Carolina State University in 2022. Dr. Williams joined Pamlico Animal Hospital in 2022 and can sometimes be found working with us on a Monday, Tuesday, or a Saturday morning. Dr. Williams has two dogs, Cain and Billie Ray, and she enjoys hiking and reading in her spare time.
Originally from Statesville, NC, she attended North Carolina State University for her BS in zoology, then graduated from NC State - College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She moved to Washington upon graduation and joined Pamlico Animal Hospital. She can sometimes be found working with us on a Monday, Tuesday, or a Saturday morning. Dr. Fulp has four dogs, three cats, and many other little critters. In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, biking, and hiking.
Dr. Martin was born and raised in Washington, North Carolina. She received her BS in Animal Science from North Carolina State University and her DVM from Texas A&M University. She has experince being an equine vet and is currently a staff vet with Pamlico Animal Hospital. She can sometimes be found working with us on a Monday, Tuesday, or a Saturday morning. Dr. Martin and her husband enjoy spending time with their four dogs and two cats.
A North Carolina native, Sabra graduated from NCSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. Dr. McCallister is pursuing her dream by helping Pamlico Animal Hospital expand into a mixed practice. She can sometimes be found working with us on a Monday, Tuesday, or a Saturday morning. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband or friends, and volunteering her time and services to underserved Native American communities. Dr. McCallister has two dogs.
Scott is originally from the mountains of NC. He attended East Tennessee State University and got his BS in Biology. He then went to NC State College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2022. He joined the team at Pamlico Animal Hospital and can sometimes be found working with us on a Monday, Tuesday, or a Saturday morning. Scott is joined by his wife Hannah, and their dog, Schmidt, and cat, Birdie. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, and playing the guitar.
